For the NBA Playoffs, I directed a crossover campaign bridging ESPN and Universal Pictures in support of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film Disclosure Day. The concept centered on placing Jaylen Brown directly into the cinematic world of the film, recreating key moments from the trailer and recontextualizing them within a sports-driven narrative.

Brought in by Framework Studio, I led the creative execution, building on a script developed by ESPN’s internal team and strategic direction from Universal’s marketing leadership. The challenge was to seamlessly merge two distinct visual languages, broadcast sports and cinematic storytelling, while maintaining fidelity to the tone and scale of the original film.

Working closely with performance, framing, and shot design, we recreated select sequences from the trailer with precision, adapting them to integrate Jaylen Brown naturally into the environment. The goal was to make the crossover feel grounded and immersive, rather than promotional, blurring the line between film and live sports culture.

The spot aired nationally across broadcast during the playoffs before being released across digital platforms by Amblin Entertainment.

Directing within the world of a Steven Spielberg project was a rare opportunity, one that required both respect for the source material and a clear, confident execution to translate it into a new context.
